Before I ever cared for a senior, I stood watch over them. I worked security in a senior living building, and night after night I saw the same thing, residents who were safe, fed, and checked on by the schedule, but still lonely in a way no checklist could fix.
That is why Adore Senior Comfort Care started. Not in a business plan, but in that building, watching families trust strangers with the people they loved most and hoping it was enough.
I didn't understand at the time, but I believe God was calling me to work directly with the elderly for some time now. Every job Ive worked, every community Ive served, every family Ive sat with I can look back and see God was preparig me.
I have spent over a decade since then making sure it is enough. I have worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a Community Health Worker, and a Direct Support Counselor for adults with disabilities and families in underserved communities. Early in my career, I was one of the first community health workers brought on at Rutgers Community Health Centers of Newark, New Jersey, where we helped enroll over 500 families in Medicaid during the ACA expansion.
That role taught me more than any classroom could. I educated families on managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, and I ran community events and health programs that measurably improved lives. But the part that shaped me most was being the liaison. I stood in the gap between families and the healthcare system, working directly with doctors, nurse practitioners, and RNs to help coordinate and advocate for the care our community received. I watched families who had no idea how to navigate the system finally get the support they needed, because someone stood in that gap for them.
That is the reason Adore exists! I didn't stop being a community health worker, I simply narrowed my focus to the population that needed that same advocacy the most. Our seniors! Everything I learned coordinating care, educating families, and building community around health is built directly into Adore. Senior education isn't an afterthought here. It's the foundation of how we operate.
When you bring Adore into your home, you aren't just getting a caregiver. You are getting someone who has spent her whole career standing in the gap between families and the care they deserve. We call our team Kingdom Caregivers because every visit is rooted in excellence, respect, and genuine love—the exact same way I would want someone to care for my own family.
When you can't be there, we are.
